From being a high class furriers, to a wine bar, to several building societies, to a cabaret showbar, ‘Funny Girls’ exploded into Blackpool in July 1994. Few experiences in recent years created so much amazement and wonderment as this, creating a window into a magical world of entertainment.

Following on from the sale of the Queen Street property in March 2002, Funny Girls moved home, and completed a £ 2,000,000 investment in the refurbishment of the Art Deco former Odeon cinema on Dickson Road. At the VIP premiere, officially opened by the glamorous Joan Collins, she declared ‘This venue is unbelievable, incredibly glamorous and gorgeous. I have never been to Blackpool before, but this venue could show London a thing or two’ – praise indeed from the queen of Hollywood.

Every night, international female impersonators lead the Funny Girl Follies, performing burlesque routines on a theatrical stage above and behind the main bar, whilst Disc jockette Zoe overseas the fun and ensures anyone celebrating an occasion is ’well looked after’.

‘Funny Girls’ extravagantly wraps designer costumes, chic and exuberant choreography, and stunning sets and lighting, all elegantly draped in glamorous performers; to provide a musical extravaganza. Nowhere else in the world will you find so enchanting a performance, ingeniously combining the brilliant style and sophistication of a hit Broadway musical, the high-energy excitement of a rock concert, the humour and comedy of burlesque, and the glamour and colour of a standing-room-only Las Vegas extravaganza. Currently celebrating her 16-th Anniversary, ‘Funny Girls’ continues to live up to her name as ‘Blackpools’ Leading Lady’.
